Noel Albert Thiel, age 84, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 1992 at his home.
He was born May 6, 1908 in Ripon, the son of Frederick H. and Emma (Badtke) Thiel. Noel was educated in Ripon and married Anna Roeder on November 18, 1932. She preceded him in death on September 30, 1971. Noel was a farmer until his retirement. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon and of the Town of Ripon School Board.
Noel is survived by one son, David N. (Christine) Thiel of Markesan, and two daughters, Noann (Roy) Gomoll and Joyce Hugh of Ripon; seven grandchildren, Richard D. Thiel, Deborah Trapp, Dawn Weber, James and Jennifer Gomoll, John and Carlton Huth; and four great-grandchildren, Jayson, Joseph, and Anna Thiel, and Michelle Trapp; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Walter and Reinhold Thiel, and one sister, Louise Greening.
Funeral Services for Noel A. Thiel will be held Wednesday, November 25, 1992 at 11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home. The Reverend James D. Mohr will officiate and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial for Our Saviour’s Church has been established in Noel’s name.
