Nola Lenore Rasske, age 87, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Markesan Resident Home.
Nola was born February 23, 1932, in Markesan, WI, daughter of Earl and Theanna (Horn) Kearley. She was baptized and confirmed at Markesan Methodist Church. Nola attended the Markesan schools and graduated with the class of 1950. Her first job was secretary of the Schultz Bros Store in Waupun. On September 17, 1950, Nola married Norman L. Rasske by Reverend John Wagner at the Markesan Methodist Church.
Shortly after, they moved to Ripon. For two years she worked at the Ripon Knitting Works. At this time she joined Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon and remained a life-long member. Nola was active in Bible study, altar guild and ladies activities. In early years she taught Sunday school and enjoyed the choir. Nola was a longtime member of VFW Auxiliary and very much enjoyed fellowship with the ladies about town, in conversation, tea and cards.
After raising the children, Nola became a Certified Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Clerk. She worked for 27 years at Berlin Memorial Hospital, working in patient care, infant care and record keeping. She enjoyed her many peers and patients.
Survivors include her four fine children, Gregory (Sue) and their son, Gregg of Ripon, WI, Steven (Peri) and their children, Carolyn, Kristen and Daniel of Mahtomedi, MN, Jane Elizabeth and her daughter, Natalya of Vadnais Heights, MN and Anne (Nick) Riegert and their daughters, Elle and Bridget of Pewaukee, WI. She is further survived by extended family and friends. Nola was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman; infant son, Mark Norman; sisters, Lavonne (Bill) Hunt and Eldeen (Bill) Moran.
Visitation for Nola will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 9 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Nola will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at 11:00 am at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ripon with Reverend Sue Sheffer-Meyer officiating. Inurnment will take place at Lake Maria Cemetery in the Town of Manchester. Memorials may be directed to the Ripon Public Library, 120 Jefferson St., Ripon, WI 54971 or Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 430 W. Griswold St., Ripon, WI 54971.
