Norman A. Miller, age 91, of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Norman was born June 1, 1923, in the Town of Brooklyn, Green Lake County, the son of Julius and Bertha (Shram) Miller. On May 18, 1946, Norman married Lida Lind at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Poy Sippi. He worked at Ripon Knitting Works and Ripon Advertisers. Norman and his wife ran a drycleaners in Omro and then he retired from Speed Queen after 32 years. Norman also worked as a carpenter with his dad. He was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Norman enjoyed “big” cars and took great care in making sure they stayed like new. He also enjoyed playing golf, boating and visiting friends and neighbors. Norman and Lida liked to take trips together once they became “empty nesters”.
Survivors include his wife of almost 69 years, Lida Miller of Fond du Lac, WI; one son, Dennis (Erin) Miller of Eau Claire; one daughter, Terry (Jerry) Jost of Fond du Lac, WI; one granddaughter, Asia; two step-granddaughters and two step-great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Norman was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Anna and three brothers, Elmer, Dick and Arnold “Jack”.
Visitation for Norman will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015, from 10 – 11:30 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Service for Norman will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 11:30 am at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Bryan Fritsch will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. Memorials may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
