Norman Schroeder

April 24, 1920 — April 21, 1986

Norman Edward Schroeder, age 65, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, April 21, 1986, at St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee.

Norman was born April 24, 1920, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of H. Walter and Clara (Schenk) Schroeder. He was educated at St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Fond du Lac and the Winnebago Lutheran Academy. Norman served our country in the United States Air Force. On April 6, 1944, he married Peg Baskerville. Norman worked as an officer for the United States Air Force for 25 years and was later employed by Speed Queen. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon and Elder, a past president of Ripon Kiwanis, a past commander of the American Legion, past president of the Ripon Republican Club and past president of Adult A.F.S.

Survivors include his wife, Peg; one son, Michael of Portage; three daughters, Gail (Stephen) King of Boston, MA, Elizabeth Schroeder of New York, NY and Diane Schroeder at home; four grandchildren, one brother, Dr. Robert Schroeder of Fond du Lac and one sister, Marilyn (Wilbert) Gawrisch of Mequon.

Visitation for Norman will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 1986, from 5 – 8:00 pm with an American Legion Service at 7:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Norman will be held on Thursday, April 24, 1986, at 11:00 am at Messiah Lutheran Church with Reverend William G. Fenker officiating. Interment will take place at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. Memorials may be directed to the Heart Fund and the Messiah Lutheran Church.
