Omar Sund

Omar W. Sund, age 89, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 1985, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.

Omar was born July 13, 1896, in Harvard, IL, the son of William and August (Faust) Sund. He served our country in the United States Army Corp during WWI. Omar married Thelma Michols on October 21, 1935, in Ft. Atkinson. He worked as a supervisor at Speed Queen. Omar was a member of Masonic Lodge #95 of Ripon, the Tyrian Chapter #15, R.A.M. of Oshkosh, a member of Oshkosh Commandary #11, Knights Templer, of ZOR Temple of Madison and a member of Madison Scottish Rite Bodies. He was also a member of American Association of Retired Persons, of American Legion of St. Atkinson Post #166 and a member of the Congregational Church of Ripon.

Survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline (Richard) Kutz of Ripon, WI and Sandra (John) Steinbring of Winnipeg, Manitoba; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on June 6, 1984.

Visitation for Omar will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 1985, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm with an American Legion Service at 8:00 pm and a Masonic Service at 8:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Omar will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 1985, at 1:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Martling officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ripon.
