Ora Deerwester, 90, died Monday, January 15, 1996, at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
She was born September 25, 1905, in Green Lake, the daughter of the late Fred and Lillian (Willis) Thrall. She attended school through the 12th grade. On September 20, 1925, Ora married Richard Deerwester and they owned and operated the Lake Shore Lodge in Green Lake. Mr. Deerwester died on December 17, 1961. Ora had been a nursing care provider in Berlin, Milwaukee and Brookfield for many years. Ora also served as a housemother at Ripon College for several years. She was a member of The Federated Church of Green Lake, and was past matron of the Green Lake-Ripon Eastern Star.
Mrs. Deerwester is survived by 2 daughters, Luella (David) Ratajczak of Appleton and Ellen (Richard) Fuller of Oak Harbor, WA; 1 son, Kenneth (Donna) Deerwester of Deerfield; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for the late Ora Deerwester will be Thursday, January 18, 1995, at 10 A.M. at the Federated Church of Green Lake. The Rev. James M. Logan will officiate and interment will be in the Bluffton Cemetery, Town of Brooklyn. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:30 until 7 P.M. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon where a celebration of Oras life will be at 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
