Orin Conant

Orin Conant, age 83, of Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
Orin was born in Chicago, IL, on July 31, 1925, the son of George and Dorothy (Bryan) Conant. He graduated from Ripon High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Orin served his country in the U.S. Army, and worked as a computer programmer at MIT Lincoln Lab, Whirlwind Computer Project, and RCA Service Computers as a subcontractor for Goddard Space Flight Center NASA. He sang with the barbershoppers and also played Baritone for MIT Student Concert Band and the U.W. Wisconsin Madison Band.
Survivors include two brothers, George Conant of MA, and Paul (Florence) Conant of Ripon; one sister, Claire (Dr. Roy) Neynaber of CA; one sister-in-law, Audrey Conant of Ripon; nine nieces and nephews; and 13 great nieces and nephews. Orin was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Roger Conant.
At his request there will be no visitation or funeral service for Orin. Inurnment will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon at a later date.
