Oscar August Benz, age 92, formerly of Fairwater, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 1991, at Care Center East, Fond du Lac.
He was born September 13, 1898, in Green Lake Co., a son to William and Otilig (Bloch) Benz. He was a farmer and general laborer, and had resided in the Fairwater area most of his life. On July 2, 1919, he married Ester Riemer. She preceded him in death on November 20, 1969. He then married Florence Makurat.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Ripon; three sons, Raymond (Doris) Benz of Green Lake, Donald (Evelyn) Benz of Burlington, IA and Eldon (Lorraine) Benz of N. Fond du Lac; one daughter, Viola Ruitenberg of Fond du Lac; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, September 14, 1991, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Oscar Benz will be held Saturday, September 14, 1991, at 11:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with the Reverend Rick Pettis officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairwater Cemetery, Fairwater.
