Oscar Louis Radke, Jr., 79, of Ripon, died Saturday, March 14, 1998, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born July 29, 1918, in rural Ripon, a son of the late Oscar and Gertrude (Kloehn) Radke, Sr. He was educated in Ripon and was a graduate of Ripon High School. On September 1, 1940, he married Marion Krueger in Dubuque, Iowa. In his early working years, Oscar had worked at Silver Creek Canning in Ripon. Then in the early fifties, he started Modern Sales & Service, retiring from his business in 1983. He had also worked for 25 years at Speed Queen in Ripon, and had been Transportation Commissioner for the City of Ripon for 6 years. For most of his life, Oscar had also farmed on a small farm.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; I sister, lone Harris of Oshkosh; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by I sister, Violet Merk of Oakfield.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 17, 1998 at 11:00 AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon with the Pastor David Busker officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. Memorials in name to the Alzheimers Association, 6130 W.
