Oscar Leonard Schlaak, age 66, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Monday, July 1, 1985, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Oscar was born March 8, 1919, in Fisk, Winnebago County, WI, the son of Theodore H. and Emma L. (Beier) Schlaak. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Oscar married Jane Dallaway in 1947 to 1967 and married his second wife, Ruth Dietrich in 1968. Oscar worked at Brandon Fertilizer Plant, Fisk Feed Mill and Salesman for Northrup King for 18 years. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ripon, usher and past member of church council and a VFW past District Commander.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one son, Ricky of Ripon, WI; one daughter, Vickie Schlaak of Milwaukee, WI; one step-daughter, Sharon (Gordon) Neubauer of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer of Wausau and Otto of Milwaukee, WI and two sisters, Myrtle Greenfield of Sheboygan and Hazel Head of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and first wife, on August 20, 1967.
Visitation for Oscar will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 1985, from 5 8:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with a VFW Service at 8:00 pm.
Funeral Service for Oscar will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 1985, at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Carl Stubenvoll officiating. Interment will follow at Waukau Cemetery in Winnebago County.
