Mr. Otto F. Thiel, age 74, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 1986 at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
Otto was born on December 29, 1911 in Ripon, the son of Otto and Amelia (Koentopp) Thiel. He was educated in Ripon schools and on June 19, 1940 he married Regina Novitske. He was a local businessman and retired Chief Fieldman for American Stores Dairy Co. and Silver Creek Canning Co. Otto was a past member of the Ripon Fire Department as well as a past County Board Supervisor for 12 years.
Otto is survived by his wife, Regina; a son, David Thiel of Ripon; three daughters, Christine (Joseph) Mastalir of Green Bay, WI, Mary Black of Noble, OK, and Ann (David) Colement of Norman, OK; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Harry of Ripon, WI, William of Green Bay, WI, and Alfred of Fond du Lac, WI; a sister, Millie (Herb) Thiem of Ripon, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Amelia Thiel.
Visitation for Otto will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 1986 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon and again on Wednesday, March 12, 1986 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the funeral home. A Rosary will be held at 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
A funeral service for Otto will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 11, 1986 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, WI, with The Reverend John A. Schmitz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. A memorial in his name has been established.
