Patricia Ostrem

Patricia Marie Ostrem, age 62, died on August 1, 2006 at her home in Green Lake, WI. Pat battled stomach and bone cancer for the past two years. Pat was born at her grandparent’s farm in Wheatland Township, WI, on March 3, 1944 to LeRoy Errickson (died March 29, 1946) and Barbara (Thompson) Errickson (died March 27, 2006). Pat was raised in Viroqua by DeVerne “Bud” Curtis (died August 27, 1993) and her mother Barbara (Errickson) Curtis. Pat graduated from Viroqua High School in 1964 and then went to Beauty School of Madison and became a beautician. On September 4, 1966 she married David Jerome Ostrem. They had two children, Christina and Jason.

Patricia was a beautician for 20 years. She worked many of those years at Elaine’s in Ripon, WI. After Pat retired as a beautician she created and ran her own Scandinavian Gift shop (Ostrem’s Husfilden) in her home outside of Rosendale, WI. Pat was an active member of the Sons of Norway in Appleton. Pat loved to travel around the world visiting friends and relatives, attending her kids and grandkids activities, carving and painting wood figures, creating jewelry and spending time with her family and friends. Pat was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale.

Patricia is survived by her husband, David Ostrem; her children, Christina (Al) Muenchow of Ripon and Jason (Loretta) of Michigan; her grandchildren, Chase, Karissa and Jonathan; her brothers, Jack (Mary) Curtis of Eau Claire, Bruce (Colleen) Curtis of Green Bay; brother-in-law, Chuck (Eileen) Young of Holmen, nieces and nephews, and many good friends.

Visitation for Patricia Ostrem will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon, and again on Friday, August 4, 2006 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale.

Funeral Service for Patricia Ostrem will be held on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Rosendale, with Pastor Charles Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale. Memorials may be given to Hospice Hope in Berlin or The American Cancer Society.
