Paul Livingood

Paul Euclid Livingood, age 72, of Ripon, Wi, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012, peacefully, in his home with his family by his side, after losing his battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Paul was born January 5, 1940, in Des Moines Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Mildred (Johnson) Livingood. He was raised in rural Minnesota where he learned the value of hard work at the young age of 11 when he started working for a neighbor on his farm. He milked cows before and after school every day. Being one of 11 children, his mother made sure her family attended church every Sunday which helped to build the foundation of his faith. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1957 after graduating from Canton High School in Canton Minnesota and served for 3 years. Once out of the Navy he worked for DHIA as a milk tester and met Janet Beusch. They married on March 27, 1965. Paul worked for Wisconsin Power and Light Company for 31 years as a lineman where he built many lifelong friendships. He had a great love of woodworking, building many beautiful things in his spare time. Paul also loved camping and taking vacations with his family. These family vacations were the highlight of every summer during the years he worked. In retirement he also took unforgettable trips with his family to Cancun, Alaska and Hawaii. One of the most memorable vacations was taking the grandchildren to Disney World in Florida. He cherished family, spending many weekends with his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews playing cards or sitting around a campfire. Paul was a patriotic man. He would hang the flag every day since 9/11/2001, saying a prayer for the troops every morning and evening. He and his wife were members of and attended Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon where he served for many years as a trustee.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughters, Paula (Dan) Fox of Fort Wayne, IN, Beth Mueller of Ripon, WI and Fiancé Rick Hemmersbach of Sparta, WI; brothers Milton (Marlys) Livingood of Northfield, MN, Garland Livingood of Waterville, MN; sisters Donna Geerdes of Rochester, MN, Mavis (Carl) Vine of St. Cloud, FLA, June Livingood of Sonoma, CA; grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah and Cameron Fox, of Fort Wayne, IN, Amanda and Jennifer Mueller of Ripon, WI, Alex and Gabe Hemmersbach of Sparta, WI; sisters-in-law, Beverly (DeWayne) Strehlow of Fond du Lac, WI, Grace (Ken) Ditter of St. Cloud, WI; his mother-in-law Ruth Beusch of Fond du Lac, WI and many nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Livingood; son, Brian Livingood; brothers, Robert and Darrell Livingood; sisters, Violet and Mary Ann Livingood, Ivanelle Solond; and father-in-law Earl Beusch.

Visitation for Paul Livingood will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 4-7 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Monday, August 13, 2012, from 10-11 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI, 54971.

Funeral Service for Paul Livingood will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 11 am at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. Pastor Joshua Pegram will officiate. Interment will follow at Garden of the Cross Cemetery in Ripon. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W.
