Pearl Grace Steward, age 75, of 809 8th St. Baraboo, died Wednesday morning, January 9, 2002 in Baraboo.
She was born May 21, 1926 in Mercer, the daughter of Arthur and E. (Spitter) Hecker. She received her education in Milwaukee. In 1945, she married August Steward in Milwaukee, and he preceded her in death. For 25 years Pearl had been a bookbinder at Cunco Press in Milwaukee. She then lived in Ripon for a time before moving to Baraboo.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth R. Steward of Baraboo, 1 granddaughter, Laura :. (Tim) Fude of Horicon; 1 great-grandson, Nicholas A. Fude of Horicon; and many brothers, sisters, neices and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 11, 2002, at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. A memorial has been established.
Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon assisted the family.
