Peter F. Merrill, age 60, of Ripon, WI, died Sunday, January 17, 1999, at his home.
He was born August 21, 1938, in Milwaukee, a son to Frederick and Lee (Schmitz) Merrill. He graduated from Premontre High School in Green Bay, and then served 18 months in the U.S. Army from 1957-1958. On January 7, 1961, he married Carol Pasterski in DePere. Peter had been a salesman for Pargreen Sales, and had lived in Ripon for many years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Ripon; five children, Christopher (Kim) Merrill of Port Washington, WI, Scott (Gretchen) Merrill of Oceanside, CA, Joseph (Kathleen) Merrill of Clarksville, TN, Jennifer (Kelly) Reilly and Patrick (Traci) Merrill of Ripon; seven grandchildren, Theresa, Jennifer, Allison, Matthew, Benjamin, Jacob and Hunter; one brother, Philip (Carol) Merrill of Seattle, WA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, JoAnne Johnson and grandmother, Julie Schmitz.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 1999; from 6 until 8 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon followed by Rosary at 7:30 pm. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 10 am until time of the Mass at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 20, 1999, at 11 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon with Father John A. Schmitz officiating. Cremation will follow. A memorial has been established.
