Peter James Stanonik III, age 58, Green Lake, WI, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 1992, at Ripon Memorial Hospital.
He was born on May 14, 1934, in North Chicago, IL, to Peter J. Stanonik II and Catherine (Mitchell) Stanonik. He served during the Korean Conflict. On July 21, 1956, he married Joyce L. Anderson in Waukegan. Mr. Stanonik moved to Green Lake in 1984. He owned and operated the Fairwater Inn in Fairwater. He was a member of the Lake County Firemans Association and was a member of the Disabled American Vets Association.
Peters greatest source of pride was his family. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; four sons, 1st Lt. Peter J. Stanonik IV (Sherron) of Ft. Richardson, AK, John E. Stanonik of Fairwater, Joseph A. Stanonik (Cindi) and Jeffrey C. Stanonik (Barbara), both of Waukegan, IL; four grandchildren, Peter J. Stanonik V and Michelle, Kathleen and Justin Stanonik; his mother, Catherine L. Stanonik of Waukegan, IL; one brother, Martin L. Stanonik (Sue) of Beach Park, IL; and one sister, Cindy J. Harvey (Ken) of Waukegan, IL; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday, May 17, 1992, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Gurnees Marsh Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mr. Stanonik will be Monday, May 18, 1992 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Warren Dee officiating. Interment will be in the North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be directed to St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan or Berlin Memorial Hospital.
