Rachel Campbell

Rachel C. Campbell died peacefully at her home in Sunny Hills, FL on Thursday, October 4, 2012.

Rachel was born the fifth of ten children to Alban and Rachel Campbell in Kenosha, WI on December 24, 1931. She moved with her family to Ripon, WI, where she attended and graduated from Ripon Senior High School in 1949. Rachel was a devote Catholic who practiced her religion throughout her life in many corners of the globe.

Rachel retired from the U.S. State Department after thirty-six years of service. She held posts in many countries including Japan, Germany, Greece, Kenya and Italy. She enjoyed her work and meeting with new and interesting people throughout her working life. Rachel was a teacher and a learner her entire life. She will be sadly missed and long remembered.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Espinosa; three step-sons, Michael (Palmira), Christopher (Elizabeth) and Joseph; one step-daughter, Mary (Michael) Apalategui; four brothers, John, Gerald (Donna), William (Joanne) and Michael (Mary Pat); three sisters, Connie, Marabella, Bernadette Weiske and Catherine Treptow. She had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Alban and Rachel Campbell and two sisters, Mary Lois (Koko) Kuehn and Patricia C. Seidl.

Visitation for Rachel will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012, from 10 – 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 218 Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Memorial mass for Rachel will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 11:00 am at
St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Ripon. Reverend Robert A. Fictum will officiate. Inurnment will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Ripon. A memorial is being established.
