Rachel Jean Sherwood, age 91, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Rachel was born on February 24, 1917, in Ripon, WI the daughter of Ralph M. and Fannie (Latimer) Sherwood. She attended Ripon Schools and became a homemaker. Rachel taught Sunday school and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Rachel always stood tall wearing an apron. Sundays were for church, naps, her nieces and nephews. She taught us how to play and her laughter was contagious. She made us eat our brussel sprouts!!
Survivors include Nieces, Nancy (Ralph) Baker of Oshkosh, WI, Sue (Richard) Kohl of Ripon, WI, Anna Sherwood of Ripon, WI. Nephews, Ralph (Donna) Sherwood of Ripon, WI. Great nephews, Christopher Kohl and Josh Warren. Great Niece, Angela Kohl.
Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Somers, Sidney, and Wesley. Sister in law, Arleen Sherwood.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November19, 2008 at 10-11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon. A private graveside service at Hillside Cemetery will be held prior to visitation.
