Ralph Edward Hartman, age 79, of Princeton, died Monday morning, August 20, 2001, at his home.
He was born November 7, 1921, in Kiel, Schleswig Township, a son to Philip and Mary (Holzer) Hartman. He was educated in Kiel, Techney, IL and Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. Mr. Hartman then attended watchmaker school in Milwaukee, and was a certified master watchmaker by trade. He served his country from Oct. 10, 1942, to Sept. 13, 1946, in the U.S. Army HQ & HQ Co 3rd Armored Group. On September 4, 1943, he married Anna Mae Morgan at St. Richard Catholic Church in Emporia, VA. Mr. Hartman was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Princeton, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and American Watchmakers Association.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Hartman of Princeton; daughter, Andrea Jean Hartman of Milwaukee; brother, Wilfred (Rita). Hartman of Manitowoc; sister, Lois Hiavachek; nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Jenny Hem. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Mary Hartman; and 2 sisters, Georgeen Tang and Donna Kainz.
There will be no visitation or funeral services according to his wishes. A memorial mass will be held privately with the family at St. Marys Catholic Church in Clarks Mills with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Clarks Mills, WI.
