Ralph Walton Hoyt, age 96, of the Town of Rosendale, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 1990, at the home of his daughter, Jean Jones of Ripon.
He was born December 9, 1894, in Rosendale the son of William and Jessie (Walton) Hoyt. On May 2, 1925, he married Mae Pillar in Waukegan, IL. She preceded him in death in May of 1972. Mr. Hoyt was a farmer in the Rosendale Area all his life. He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Rosendale, a member of the Order of the Easter Star and the Masonic Lodge of Rosendale. He was a member of the Rosendale Grange and had served in the U.S. Army during WWI.
Survivors include three sons, Harlan of Selinas, CA, Bruce and John both of Rosendale; one daughter, Jean Jones of Ripon; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Berna Shafer of Rosendale. He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, one son, two daughters and one granddaughter.
Friends may call Thursday, December 20, 1990, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral services for Mr. Hoyt will be Friday, December 21, 1990, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, Rosendale with Pastor Wanda Veldman officiating. Interment will be in the Rosendale Cemetery.
