Ralph Herbert Licking, age 55, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Friday, May 1, 1953, unexpectedly at work in Ripon.
Ralph was born April 29, 1898, in Dillsboro, Indiana, the son of Christian and Minnis (Ziegenbein) Licking. He graduated from high school and went on to further his education by receiving his bachlors and masters degrees from Purdue. Ralph worked as the Superintendent of Ripon Public Schools. He married Theresa Tayor in Lawrencberg, Indiana. Ralph was a member of the Masons, Congregational Church in Ripon, the School Masters Association of Wisconsin, Past President of the North Eastern Wisconsin Teachers Association, the Geology Club of Madison, the Rotary Club of Ripon and Sqaure and Compass.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa; two sons, James of Greensburg, IN and John of Ripon, WI; one daughter, Mrs. Lewis Christiansen of Gary, IN; one sister, Mrs. John Babcock of Santa Cruz, CA and two brothers, William and Wesley of Dillsboro, CA.
Friends may call after 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 2, 1953, at Butzin Funeral Home in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Ralph will be held Sunday, May 3, 1953, at 4:00 pm at Ripon Senior High School in Ripon. Cremation will follow.
