Raymond W. Benz, age 90, of Ripon, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
Ray was born in Fairwater, WI, on July 1, 1920, the son of Oscar and Esther (Reimer) Benz. He attended Brandon school, and went on the serve his country during WWII, in the U.S. Navy as a crew chief for the Fleet Air Wing from 1942 to 1945. Ray was a member of the Green Lake Federated Church and the Green Lake Willis-Chapel Legion Post #306. Ray farmed in the Green Lake area.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Doris Benz; one daughter, Radene Abel of Green Lake, WI; one son, Gary (Ardis) Benz of Hixton, WI; six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eldon and Donald; and one sister, Viola.
Visitation for Raymond W. Benz will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 9-11:00 a.m. at the Green Lake Federated Church in Green Lake, 489 Scott Street, Green Lake, WI. 54941
Funeral Service for Raymond W. Benz will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Green Lake Federated Church in Green Lake with Reverend Karen Gygax Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow in Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake. A memorial is being established in his name.
