Raymond Ray H. Harms, age 86, of Ripon, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008, at Ripon Medical Center.
Ray was born on the family farm on August 23, 1921, a son to Frederick and Rosetta (Zank) Harms. He graduated from Ripon High School, and on April 7, 1945, Ray married Arlynn Eimermann. He was an avid farmer who was very proud to receive the Century Farm Award at the Wisconsin State Fair. Ray was secretary/treasurer of the Equity Livestock Association as well as being a former 4-H leader. A devout Christian, Ray was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school. Ray loved his farm which he continued to oversee with the help of his friend and renter, Russell Clausing.
Survivors include daughters, Gail (Jeff) Clarke of Mill Valley, CA, Lynne (Mark) Dehn of Beaver Dam, and Jean Harms of Ripon; grandchildren, Melissa (Brandon) Davis of Houston, TX, Karalyn Dehn, and Mitchell Dehn both of Beaver Dam; great-grandchildren, Makenna, Paige, and Brinleigh Davis; sister-in-law, Betty (Hubert) Rohde of Ripon; and brother-in-law, Edgar (Evelyn) Weiss of Green Lake. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 52 years, Arlynn, who passed in 1997.
Visitation for Raymond H. Harms will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon.
Funeral service for Raymond H. Harms will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008, at Immanuel United Methodist Church with Reverend Paul W. Nulton officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Ripon. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rays name may be given to Immanuel United Methodist Church, or a memorial of choice.
