Raymond "Ray" Walker

Raymond E. Walker, age 86, of Green Lake, WI, died Saturday August 8, 1998, at the Markesan Residents Home in Markesan.

He was born July 7, 1912, in Green Lake, a son to Earl and Kate (Crook) Walker. He graduated from Green Lake High School. In 1939, he married Helen Resheske. Ray had a Fishing Guide service on Big Green Lake. He was instrumental in the 1950’s in stocking lake trout in Big Green lake, and will be remembered as a legendary fishing Guide on the Lake, as well as an avid hunter and trapper. Ray was a member of; Our Lady of the Lake Church Green Lake, Ducks Unlimited, and Wings Over Wisconsin.

He is survived by 3 sons, Dennis (Dusty) of Green Lake, James (Pam) of Ripon, and John (Peggy) of Green Lake; 1 Brother Roy (Celia) Walker, and 1 Sister Doris (Harold) Wittchow both of Ripon. 3 grandchildren Jackie, Heidi and Skip. 5 great-grandchildren; Courtney, Cameron, Ryan, Caroline and Jack. 3 step grand-daughters; Tonya, Jennifer and Kerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, 1 sister and 1 brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 11,
1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake at
11:00 AM with the Reverend John R Dowd officiating.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM at the church until the time of
the service. A memorial has been established.

Interment will be in the Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.
