Raymond E. Zahn, age 71, of Ripon, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon, WI.
Ray was born on June 25, 1939, in Ripon, the son of Elmer and Beatrice (Spaulding) Zahn. He attended Ripon High School and served our country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. On August 31, 1962, he married Gail Gillette in Crystal Falls, MI. Ray was a telephone cable splicer for the telephone company for thirty years. He was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Ripon. Ray had a love for hunting, fishing, cutting wood and all things outdoors. He was also an excellent cribbage player.
Survivors include his wife, Gail of 48 years; one son, Eric (Shirley) Zahn of Oshkosh, WI; and their children, Camille and Nash Zahn; granddaughter, Allison Resop; brother, Glenn Zahn; sister, Mary Zahn; mother-in-law, Alice Stark of Seminole, FL; brother-in-law, Marvin Burton of Ripon and several nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, son, Scott Zahn; sisters, Lucille Funk and Beverly Burton; brother-in-law, Don Gillette and father-in-law, Eugene Stark.
In accordance with Rays wishes, there will be no formal funeral. He will be remembered during a Eucharistic Mass at St. Peters Church in Ripon. Memorials may be given to St. Peters Episcopal Church, 217 Houston St. Ripon, WI 54971.
