Reinhold W. Mathwig, age 79, of Spearfish, SD (formerly of Rosendale, WI) passed away on Monday, October 15, 1951.
Reinhold was born in Marquette, WI on March 24, 1872, the son of William Mathwig. He is a retired rancher, and has resided in Rosendale, WI, moving to Alzada MT in 1910, and then upon retirement moved to Spearfish, SD in 1940. On December 2, 1894 he married Edith Born in Rosendale, WI.
Reinhold is survived by three sons, Ervin Mathwig of Watertown, WI, Edward Mathwig of Ripon, WI and Edwin Mathwig of Tacoma, WA; two daughters, Ruth Busse and Hazel Mathwig both of Spearfish, SD; two sisters, Gus Wegner of Wautoma and Mrs. Peter Katkey of MI; a brother, Richard Mathwig of Spearfish, SD; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mathwig and his father, William Mathwig.
Visitation for Reinhold will be held from 12:00 pm on Friday, October 19, 1953 until 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 20, 1953 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, with Reverend E.E. Schieler officiating. Interment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery, Fairwater, WI.
