The Reverend Arlin H. Adams, 82, of Ripon, died Sunday, December 11, 1994, at Ripon Medical Center in Ripon.
He was born January 1, 1912, in Clintonville, WI, a son to Martin and Helen Messerschmidt Adams. He attended schools at Clintonville, Wartburg College at St. Paul and Seminary at Dubuque, IA. He had been Pastor for 50 years serving parishes in Wisconsin, in the Military Chaplaincy, Lincoln Lutheran Home in Racine and the Good Samaritan Society in Iowa. He served as Assistant Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon from 1975 to 1985. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of Wisconsin National Guard Association and a member of the V.F.W. of Janesville. On June 13, 1954, he was united in marriage with Ruth Granberg. After leaving Ripon for a period of time, they returned to Ripon in January 1992.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by three sons, John (Mary) Adams of Barboursville, WV, Arlin of Alexandria, VA, and Arthur of Oceanside, CA; two daughters, Patricia (Leo) Michaels of Rockville, MD, and Melanie Erdman of Janesville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna McNaulty and two sisters.
Funeral Service for the Reverend Arlin H. Adams will be held Wednesday at 11 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon. Reverend Carl L. Stubenvoll will officiate. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church.
