Richard Davis

Richard Lee Davis, 82, of Ripon, died Wednesday evening, June 27, 2001, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac.

Richard was born March 23, 1919, the son of Peter H. and Cornie (Fletcher) Davis in Hendricks, Indiana where he attended school. He had lived in Williams for many years, and had worked for the Civil Conservation Corps and also had been a sawmill laborer. He then moved to Ripon, and later married Cordelia Reilly on June 13, 1977. Richard was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Fond du Lac.

Richard is survived by his wife, Cordelia Davis; 9 step-children, James (Sally) Dahlke of Ripon, Patricia Stickles of Pell Lake, Michael (Joelitta) Meeker, Allan (Cheryl) Reilly of Ripon, Betty Reilly of Pardeville, Tony Reilly, Kenneth Reilly and Kevin (Karen) Reilly all of Ripon; 17 step-grandchildren and 8 step great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers, William and Paul Davis of Indiana and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard and Marvin and two sisters, Virginia and Ruby.

Funeral service for Richard Lee Davis will be 11:00 am on Saturday, June 30, 2001, at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon with Captain Brian Davis of the Salvation Army Church in Fond du Lac officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bluffton Cemetery in the Town of Brooklyn. A memorial has been established.
