Richard Arthur DeRosier, Jr., age 48, of W4636 Grouse Dr., Montello, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon after a life long, heart breaking battle with alcoholism, February 19, 2002, at Berlin Memorial Hospital, Berlin.
He was born April 1, 1953, in Racine, a son to Richard and Arlene (Boetcher) DeRosier, Sr. He received his education in Milwaukee and Montello Schools. Richard was a self-employed carpenter and painter.
Survivors include his mother and father of Montello; 3 sisters, Vicki (Jerry) Craig of GA, Sheila (Roger) Shaw, Sr. of Montello, and Kim (Dennis) Peyton of Montello; 1 brother, Gary Eckstein of Milwaukee; 2 former wives, Peggy Schmidt of Racine and their sons, Alex of CO and Kyle of Racine, Brenda DeRosier and their sons, Cody and Chase of Westfield; special uncle, Steve; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews and cousins; and good friend, Francine of Montello. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Theodore Eckstein.
A memorial service for Richard DeRosier, Jr. will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2002, at Buffalo Community Bible Church in Montello with Pastor William Schuhmacher officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-3 p.m. at the church.
