Richard Mueller

Richard Edwin Mueller, age 74, of Green Lake, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.

Richard was born on May 25, 1933, in Milwaukee, the son of Louis and Violet (Ahlswede) Mueller. He has a star shortstop at Boys Tech High School, and continued his education at various colleges and advanced education programs. Early on his entrepreneurial spirit was evident, and he mastered a number of small business ventures, and went on to work in the telecommunications industry. Richard held executive positions with Wisconsin Bell and AT&T, and then returned to his entrepreneurial roots assisting a number of start-up communications businesses. Once retired from business, he continued to work for the Tuscumbia Country Club of Green Lake, running their pro-shop as well as being as handling the finances for the club. Richard had an absolute passion for golf. When he wasn’t working at the country club, he would often be found out on their golf course doing what he loved best. An avid sportsman and sports fan throughout his life, Dick was an accomplished bowler, fisherman and Packers fan.

Survivors include his partner, Judy Krakow of Green Lake; children, Christine (Cliff Bahlman) Mueller of Sonoma, CA, Michael (Ann) Mueller of Mequon, WI, and Nicole Durbin of Chicago; grandchildren, Amy, Brian, Daniel, and Scott Mueller, and Hudson Durbin; brother-in-law, Edward Andryauskas of Brown Deer, WI; sister-in-law, Marlene Mueller of Oshkosh; nieces, Debbie (Tim) Netz, Laura Mueller, Sheryl (Oscar) Crary, and Beth (John) Gersten; and nephews, Louis (Darlene) Mueller, Scott (Ellen) Andryauskas, and Jeff (Sharon) Andryauskas. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Mueller Andryauskas; and brother, Louis Mueller.

At his request, there will be a private celebration of his life at Tuscumbia Country Club. A fund to create a memorial at Tuscumbia Country Club has been established. Donations may be sent to Green Lake State Bank, P. O. Box 186, Green Lake, WI 54941, checks made to the “Richard Mueller Memorial.”
