Rita M. Twohig, 81, of Green Lake, died Monday afternoon, June 11, 2001, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
She was born June 12, 1919, in Boston, MA, a daughter to Michael and Mary (Handren) Costello. She graduated from Mission High School in Boston, and later married William Twohig. Rita had been a secretary at Massachusetts General Hospital, and had lived in Boston, Appleton, and then several years ago, moved to Green Lake to be close to her family. Mrs. Twohig was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Green Lake.
Surviving are her son, Robert (Jillene) McLaughlin of Ripon; grandchildren, Janice (Matt) Jackering of Appleton, Scott (Brooke) ~Vanevenhoven of Ripon, and Sara Vanevenhoven and Jeff Radloff of Ripon; 1 great-grandchild, Andrew Radloff; 2 sisters, Claire Costello of Milton, MA and Mary Heffernan of Boston, MA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, one brother and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 14, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Green Lake with Father Philip Krogman officiating. Family and friends may call at the church from 11:30 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
