Robert Harley Acord, 79, of Ripon, died Monday, September 29, 1997, at St. Elizabeth Hopsital in Appleton.
He was born March 14, 1918, in Fond du Lac, the son of Leo H. and Cecelia Sterr Acord. He attended school in Fond du Lac. On September 13, 1948, he married Luella W. Page in Philadelphia. He was an engineer with the Soo Line Railroad for many years and was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He and Luella made their home in Fond du Lac prior to moving to Ripon 7 years ago. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Ripon. Robert was a former member of the Masons and had served in the military,
He include his wife, Luella; 1 daughter-in-law, MarthaLee Ammeter Page of Ripon; 2 grandsons, Randy (Pam) Page of Sussex and Jeffrey Page of Slinger; and 2 great-granddaughters, Sarah and Shannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Leo and Lloyd Acord, and 1 stepson, Roger Page.
Funeral service will be Friday, October 3, 1997, at 11 AM at lmmanuel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Busker officiating. Friends may call Friday from 9 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Ledgeview Memorial Park, Town of Empire, Fond du Lac Co. A Memorial has been established.
