Robert A. Alvin, 54, Lawson Dr., Green Lake, died Tuesday, July 4, 1989, at his home.

He was born July 22, 1934, in Green Lake to Arnold and Ruth Hallman Alvin. On July 7, 1956, he married Arlene Gahart in Green Lake.

Mr. Alvin graduated from Green Lake H.S. He served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was a carpenter and had lived in Green Lake all his life. He was a member of the Green Lake Legion Willis-Chapel Post #306, a member of the Green Lake Lions and a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dale and James, both of Wheaton, IL and Donald of Redmond, WA; two daughters, Lynn Alvin of Green Lake and Barbara Thiel of Princeton; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; one brother, David Alvin of Green Lake and one sister, Elaine Thrall of Gig Harbor, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ardis.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at The Federated Church of Green Lake. The Reverend Dwight Bastian will officiate and interment will follow in the Dartford Cemetery, Green Lake.

Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon.
