Robert C. Billing, Sr., age 81, of Wautoma, WI, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Robert was born July 2, 1935, in Fifield, WI, the son of Stewart C. and Anna (Magdlin) Billing. He graduated from Fifield High School and went on to serve our country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. Robert married Marvel Ruth Monroe. He was a supervisor for Swiss Craft Embroidery in Chicago for 36 years. Robert was the jokester of his family, always lightening the mood of his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Marvel Ruth Billing of Wautoma, WI; two sons, Robert C. Billing of Palatine, IL and Richard E. (Debra J.) Billing of Ripon, WI; two daughters, Tina M. (Mark) Stanley of Chicago, IL and Patricia A. (David Howard) Billing of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Steven M. Stanley of Oswego, IL, Emily P. Billing and Samantha J. Billing both of Ripon, WI and great-grandson, Zander M. Ness of Ripon, WI. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Anne Billing; brothers, William “Bill” and Thomas Billing and his sister, Dorothy Dillinger.
Robert often said, “Funerals are for the living, and I won’t be living”, so per his wishes there will be no service. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 620 South 76th St., Milwaukee, WI 53214 or ASPCA, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, DC, 20090-6929.
