Robert "Bobby" Morris

January 17, 1954 — December 25, 2012

Robert “Bobby” George Morris passed through heaven’s gate on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was chosen by God to be God’s special Christmas gift.

Bobby was born on January 17, 1954, to the parents of Azel and Anita (Jaquith) Morris in Elkhorn, WI. Bobby spent his childhood at home with his loving parents until their untimely deaths as a result of a fatal car accident in 1970, where Bobby had been a passenger in the car and Bobby survived and his parents did not.

Bobby attended Lakeland School, a special school for people with developmental disabilities until 1975. Bobby remained in Walworth County in different facilities until 1991, where he then moved to Sheltered Village of Ripon until 2005. He then moved back to Whitewater, WI to be more independent and he lived there until August 2012. Bobby lived his last months in Kaukauna at St. Paul Elder Services.

Bobby was very, very special from the very start. Being born with Downs Syndrome and not being able to talk, Bobby had many challenges to overcome. However, he had a lot of spunk and managed to get his needs known. Everyone who met Bobby fell in love with him and especially, Darcie Hinds, who started taking care of Bobby at Sheltered Village of Ripon in 1995. He took up a big part of Darcie’s heart and from then until the day of his passing, she did everything in her power to make sure Bobby had the very best life he could. Darcie took over Bobby’s guardianship in 2005.

He enjoyed many different things in life. As everyone knows, his favorite things were SOCKS!!!! Bobby could find socks where ever he went, he could walk into a store and if the store sold socks, Bobby would know exactly where they were even if it was the first time in the store. When he was younger, he would go as far as stealing socks off of people’s feet if he could get away with it.

Bobby was a member of Special Olympics where he earned metals and ribbons for bowling. He also participated in weight lifting for a couple years. Bobby was a huge Packer Fan. He also loved animals, music, good food and coloring pictures with his “special” nieces.

Bobby was considered a member of the Hinds family and will be forever missed by Darcie Hinds of Greenville, WI, Dustin and Michele (Krokstrom) Hinds and “special” nieces, Bailey and Kerstyn Krokstrom of Oshkosh, WI. Bobby was further survived by Mary and Donald Hinds of Sycamore, IL and Priscilla and Daniel Yohann of Fond du Lac, WI, Aaron and Jena Yohann of Sun Prairie, WI, Corrine and Mike Bundy of West Salem, WI and he will be missed by his dear friend, Michelle Schroeder of Ripon, WI. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Bobby will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, from 2 – 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Bobby will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 4:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Donald Deike will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the Town of Sugar Creek, WI. A memorial is being established.

Darcie Hinds would like to express her gratitude and appreciation to St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna, WI. Darcie would like to personally thank each and every staff member who had a part in Bobby’s care since August. She cannot express enough the wonderful care he received in his end days of his life.
She is eternally grateful.
