Robert C. Carne, 85, of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday morning, May 30, 2002 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Robert was born on November 11, 1916 in Maywood, IL, the son of Clarence and Lillian (Norton) Carne. He graduated from Maywood High School, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On June 7, 1940 he married Frances Cahill, and they made their home in Green Lake for almost 50 years. Robert owned and operated Tuscumbia Golf-Tennis and Supper Club and Green Meadows Bowling Lanes, and after retiring, they moved to Oshkosh.
Survivors include his wife, Frances of Oshkosh; two sons, Ronald (Mary Ellen) Carne of Madison and Randall (Marcia) Carne of Idaho; seven grandchildren; and
eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Robert Allen Carne.
A memorial service was held at Evergreen Manor in Oshkosh where Robert lived with his wife.
