Robert Kastenschmidt

Robert Kastenschmidt, age 93, of Rosendale, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Tower View Villa in Rosendale.

Robert was born on December 20, 1914, in Mindoro, WI, the son of John and Hattie (Storandt) Kastenschmidt. He graduated from Mindoro High School and U. W. LaCrosse, and worked for Green Giant in Rosendale for 23 years as a mechanic, and 12 years at A.H. Bluemke’s in Rosendale and did some farming also. On November 4, 1939 he married Mae Hoyer. Robert resided in Rosendale for about 53 years and in Wyoming for 7 years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale, and was a charter member of the Rosendale Lions Club.

Survivors include three sons, Marlin (Sandra) Kastenschmidt of Fond du Lac, Leonard (Brenda) Kastenschmidt of Honor, MI, Gordon (Kesha) Kastenschmidt of Casper, Wy; three daughters, LaCinda Stanfield of Hugo, OK, Carlene (David) Brown of Festus, MO, and Leatrice (Don) Cronk of Lowell, AR; one son-in-law, Bob Fuchs; numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two daughters, Marleece Frericks and Jolene Fuchs; two sons-in-law, J.D. Stanfield and Dennis Frericks; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Kastenschmidt.

Visitation for Robert Kastenschmidt will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008, from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and also on Saturday, November 15, 2008, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale.

Funeral service for Robert Kastenschmidt will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Rosendale, with the Reverend Charles R. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rosendale Cemetery, Village of Rosendale. A memorial can be given to Peace Lutheran Church in his name.
