Robert E. Kujawa, a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, age 72, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Appleton Medical Center.
Robert was born June 4, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the son of Henry V. and Ann (Gorman) Kujawa. He graduated from Gordon Tech High School and went on to DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. Robert married the love of his life, Carole A. Olson, on April 14, 1964 in Belle, MO, and they settled in Des Plaines, IL, where they raised their family.
Robert began his career as an electronics technician with McDonnell Douglas on NASAs Gemini Space project, and went on to become a computer programmer and software systems manager in the nuclear power industry. Robert had a lifelong passion for aviation and flying which led him to take flying lessons to obtain his solo flight certificate and he joined the Algonquin Soaring Club. He was an avid airplane model builder, and, like his twin brother, produced several museum-quality models. Roberts other passions included spending time with his grandchildren, computers, electronics and musky fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Carole A. Kujawa of Green Lake, WI; three children, Bryan R. (Mindy) Kujawa of Lisle, IL, Darren R. Kujawa of Chesapeake, VA and Dawn M. Kujawa of Naperville, IL; eight grandchildren, Bryan Rocky Kujawa of Lake Forest, IL, Catrina, Daniel and Lana Kujawa all of Lisle, IL and Haley, Cort, Lilly and Layne Kujawa all of Chesapeake, VA. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ann Kujawa, and his twin brother, James V. Kujawa.
Visitation for Robert will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016, from 4 7:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971 and again on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 11 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 530 Ruth St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
Mass of Christian Burial for Robert will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, at 12:00 pm at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Green Lake, where Robert was an active member.
