Robert “Bob” Richard Laakkonen, age 77, of Ripon, WI, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Prairie Place in Ripon.
Bob was born January 22, 1944, in Superior, WI, the son of William and Fannie (Neva) Laakkonen. He graduated from Superior High School and in 1969, Bob married Glenda Petermann in Solon Spring, WI. He worked as a freezer packaging foreman at Larson Company in Fairwater. Bob enjoyed lighthouses, sailing ships and was an avid Packer fan.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Laakkonen of Ripon, WI; son, Will (Amie) Laakkonen of St. Cloud, MN; special grandson, Freddy; brother, Bill (Bea) Laakkonen of Hawthorne, WI and many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Ronald.
Visitation for Bob will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021, from 10 – 11:00 am at Hillside Assembly, 656 W. Oshkosh St., Ripon, WI 54971.
Memorial Service for Bob will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 11:00 am at Hillside Assembly in Ripon with Pastor Erik Boulier officiating. Masks and social distancing are required at the church. A memorial is being established in his name.
