Robert J. Levonowicz, age 78, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin.
Robert was born on June 12, 1933, in Waukegan, IL, the son of John and Amelia (Longus) Levonowicz. He graduated from high school and served our country in the United States Army in the Korean War. On November 25, 1961, Robert married Judith Maguire in Waukegan, IL. He worked as a painter and in graphic arts.
Robert was an easy going Polish boy who loved the Packers, Badgers, polka music and most of all his grandchildren. He was an animated story teller, avid golfer and fisherman and a connoisseur of potatoes. Robert always enjoyed participating in the Green Lake Chili Cook Off.
Survivors include two sons, Richard (Connie) May of Sheboygan, WI and Robert (Lori) Levonowicz of Oshkosh, WI; two daughters, Karen Levonowicz of Green Lake, WI and Mary (Jim) Benzine of Sun Prairie, WI and three granddaughters, Celeste May of Sheboygan, WI, Annie and Lauren Benzine of Sun Prairie, WI. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 48 years, Judy who preceded him in death on November 17, 2008; three brothers, six sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Robert Levonowicz will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012, from 11 12:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr., Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral service for Robert Levonowicz will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 12:00 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. Reverend Karen Gygax-Rodriguez will officiate. Interment will follow at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake. A memorial is being established in his name.
