Robert G. McDaniel, 73, of 242 Oshkosh St, Ripon, passed away of bone cancer on June 21, 1995 at Parkview Care Center, Ripon.
He was born March 5, 1922 in Kaukauna, a son to the late George and Florence Golden McDaniel. On June 22, 1950 he married Rosella “Rosie” Zelten and she passed away on July 5, 1985 after 34 years of marriage.
He was a 1st Lieutenant in the 32nd Infantry Division during WWII, and was former commander of the American Legion Post of Ripon and a member of the Ripon V.F.W. Bob was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He had lived in Ripon the past 38 years. Prior to moving to Ripon he was International Harvester District Manager in Green Bay. He later purchased the Schlueter-McDaniel Insurance Agency in Ripon.
He is survived by his sons and daughters, Dick (Judi) of Minneapolis, Eileen of Cottonwood, AZ, Terry of Minneapolis, Tom (Renee) of Coralville, TA, Mary(Kevin)Uhen of Scottsdale, AZ and Peggy of Oshkosh, 4 grandchildren and his fiancee, Shirley Williams. He is further survived by brothers and sisters, twin brother, Bill (Jean) of Minnetonka, MN, Ann of DePere, Tom (Monica) of West Bend, Pat (Lorraine) of Racine, Rita (Ray) of Brookfield and Marie Shomish of Waupun. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, James and 1 granddaughter, Malissa.
Friends and family were very important to him and he enjoyed having people around. Bob enjoyed. the violin, golf, cards, fishing, telling stories and traveling.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, June 26, 1995, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ripon where he was a member. The Reverend John A. Schmitz will officiate. Inurnment will take place at St Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Town of Ripon. The family will receive friends from 9 A.M. until the time of the memorial service at the church.
A memorial has been established in his name for Hospice Hope.
