Robert A. Prellwitz, 86, of Ripon, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Michalenes Assisted Living in Ripon, with his family at his side.
Robert was born on September 23, 1924, the son of Robert F. and Johanna (Sauerbrei) Prellwitz. He graduated from Ripon High School in the Class of 1942. Robert worked as a semi truck driver for Speed Queen in Ripon. In 1946, he married Barbara J. Mickle, and they made their home in Ripon. He was a member of Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, and the V.F.W. Schultz-Klemp-Wentland Post in Ripon. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-1946. Robert was a Kind, fun loving man whose love for his family and sense of humor brought joy to us all. We will miss his laughter, his passion for all Wisconsin sports teams and the genuine love and pride he felt for each and every one of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Prellwitz of Ripon; five daughters, Diane (Steve) Stephens of San Antonio, TX, Sue (Herm) Leitz of Ripon, Jayne (Dennis) Plagenz of Ripon, Barb (Joe) LeGault of Buffalo, MN, Robyn (Mark) Burton of Ripon; one son, Bob (Tricia) Prellwitz of Berlin; one sister, Marion (Ed) VandeBrink of Ripon; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Caroline and Alvin Abel; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Leslie Prellwitz.
Visitation for Robert A. Prellwitz will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Our Saviours United Church of Christ, 343 Scott Street, Ripon, WI 54971.
Funeral Services for Robert A. Prellwitz will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Our Saviours United Church of Christ in Ripon, with Reverend Mark R. West officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lake Center Cemetery, Town of Green Lake. Memorials may be given to St. Agnes Hospice Hope Foundation, 430 E. Division St. Fond du Lac, WI 54935 or Michalenes, 530 Union St. Ripon, WI 54971.
