Robert F. Roeder, age 86, of Ripon, passed away on Saturday, March 06, 2010, at American House in Ripon, WI.
Robert was born on November 4, 1923, in the Town of Green Lake, the son of Robert and Ella (Harder) Roeder. He attended Adams School in Ripon and on October 11, 1958, Robert married Mabel Born in Ripon. He worked as a farmer and then for Speed Queen as a fork lift operator. Robert was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, Ripon Lions Club, was a Ripon Medical Volunteer and worked as a volunteer fireman for Ripon Fire Department.
Survivors include two step sons, Phillip Morris of Sebring, FL and Theodore Morris of St. Augustine, FL; step grandchildren, Debbie (Henry) Hilscher, Patty (Jeff) Brown, Linda (Walt) Isler, Sue (Craig) Elliot, Cindy Madigan, John Madigan, Tim Morris and Greg Morris; step great-grandchildren, Laura (fiancée Josh Reinsch) Hilscher, Jake Brown, Evan Brown, Ben, Becca, and Nathan Isler, and Lauran Elliott; brother-in-law, Milton (Janice) Born; son-in-law, Barney (Sue) Madigan; nieces and nephews, Lorraine (Earl) Fischer, Beverly (Roger) Fenner, Noann (Roy) Gomoll, Bill (MaryAnn) Waltenberry, David (Cordilia) Thiel, Joyce Hoch, Lawrence (Delores) Retzlaff; many great nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mabel; step children, Constance Madigan, Dennis (Sally) Morris, and Michael Morris; brothers, Herman and August Roeder; and sisters, Anna Thiel, Ester Retzlaff, Gertrude Lehman, and Edna Waltenberry.
Visitation for Robert Roeder will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 10 – 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.
Funeral Service for Robert Roeder will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 11:00 am at Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon. Reverend Mark R. West will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairwater Cemetery in the Village of Fairwater. Memorials may be given to Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ, 343 Scott St. Ripon, WI 54971 or Ripon Medical Volunteer, 933 Newbury St. P.O. Box 390 Ripon, WI 54971.
