Robert G. Sauer

Robert “Bob” Gordon Sauer, age 92, of Ripon, WI, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Prairie Place in Ripon.

Bob was born in Waupun, WI on September 21, 1931. He was the son of Herman and Nellie (Gleffe) Sauer. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. On October 20, 1956, he married Shirley O. Dahl. They were blessed with a daughter, Julie Ann. Bob was employed as a diesel truck mechanic. 

Throughout the years, they lived in Ripon, Tuttle Lake, and Berlin. Bob enjoyed polka music, gardening, and hunting. He was a member of Our Saviour’s United Church of Christ in Ripon.

Bob is survived by his nieces and nephews; as well as Bartelt and Dahl family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nellie Sauer; beloved wife, Shirley Sauer; daughter, Julie Ann Sauer; brothers, Lyle, Lloyd, Ralph, and Herman Jr.; sisters, Merle Olson, Norma Sauer, Estella Mugridge, Mary Hare, and Carol Sauer.

Visitation for Bob will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Drive, Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral Service for Bob will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Kevin P. Mundell officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to the Green Lake Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 86, Green Lake, WI 54941.
