Robert "Sully" Sullivan

Robert W. “Sully” Sullivan, 80, of Green Lake, was called home by his Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2007.

Robert was born on January 11, 1927 the son of Elmer and Stella (Koenig) Sullivan in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated High School, and then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In 1951, Robert married Virginia Ruppel at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He worked as a Meat Packing Manager for Plankinton Packing Co., and retired as a Sales Representative from U.S. Steel. Robert was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Ripon as well as a member of the Mascoutin Golf Club, the V.F.W. Milwaukee Post, and Ducks Unlimited. Robert was proud to serve his country as a Seaman Second Class in the U.S. Navy. He forever remembered the witnessing of the signing of the Peace Treaty in Tokyo Bay when stationed aboard the USS Topeka. Robert first and foremost took care of his family, sacrificing to ensure a good life. He was a “big city boy” that loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, golfing, and boating, which included a place on “the lake”, Big Green Lake.

Survivors include his lifelong love Virginia Sullivan of Green Lake, a beloved daughter; Cynthia (Chuck) Wilson of West Allis, a beloved son; Timothy Robert (Mary Jo) Sullivan of Racine, 2 cherished grandchildren; Maggie Jo and William Timothy Sullivan, and 2 cherished step-great-granddaughters; Alex and Hailee Wilson. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Robert W. Sullivan will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 9:30-11:30AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.

Funeral Services for Robert W. Sullivan will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 11:30AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church with the Reverend Bryan Fritsch officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Wisconsin 2900 Curry Ln. #A Green Bay, WI 54311.
