Robert George Thieme, 78, of Ripon, WI died Tuesday evening, July 18, 2000, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born on October 21, 1921, in Waterbury, CT, a son to the late Robert and Elsie (Bradlow) Thieme, Sr. He graduated from high school in Palatine, IL. Robert served his country in the 4th Infantry Division of the US Army during WWII, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion Post #690 in Palatine. On July 22, 1950, he married Elizabeth Tetlow, and they made their home in Palatine until moving to Green Lake, WI 15 years ago. Until his retirement, he was a machinist at Pheoll Mfg. Co. in Chicago, IL, and a member of l.A.M. #113 (International Aerospace Machinist Union).
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Thieme of Silver Creek Manor; 2 sons, Mark (Kathleen) Thieme of Palatine, IL and Wade Thieme of Cary, IL; 2 grandchildren, Kiel and Colleen Thieme; 2 sisters, Louise Sturm of CA and Gertrude (Harold) Krug of IL; many nieces and nephews. His sister, Martha preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Inurnment will follow at a later date. In
