Robert W. Ziggy Ziegler, 55, formerly of Inyokern, California, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at St. Clares Hospital in Wausau, WI.
Robert was born on August 19, 1951, a son of William E. and LaVina (Vieth) Ziegler. He graduated from Ripon High School, and then started working in Fond du Lac for Wisconsin Power & Light Company. Robert moved to Southern California in 1983, to work for Southern California Edison, where he worked for 24 years. On August 13, 1988, he married Susan Erdmann in Bel Air, California. As of March 2007, Ziggy moved to Wausau, WI to work for PAR Electric Contractors, Inc. He was also past President of the Shaver Lake, CA Lions Club. Ziggy loved to spend time with family and friends, play baseball, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will be missed by his dogs; Zack and Polly Ziegler, as well as his cat, Chloe.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Susi Ziegler of Inyokern, CA; a son; Scott M. (Serena) Ziegler of Ripon, and a daughter; Julie A. Ziegler (special friend, Jason) of Madison, WI. Robert is also survived by his mother, LaVina Ziegler of Ripon, 2 sisters; Debby (Dennis) Washkoviak of Ripon, and Jean (Tom) Reinsch of Ripon, and 2 brothers; Dennis (Ida) Ziegler of Ripon, and Edward Ziegler of Green Lake. Father-in-law Orville L. (special friend, Lorraine) Erdmann of Lompoc, CA (originally from Oakfield, WI); brothers-in-law; Tom Erdmann of Orange, CA, Robert Erdmann of Santa Rose, CA, Ted Erdmann of Los Angeles, CA; sisters-in-law; Barbara (Leon) Caldwell of Los Angeles, CA and and Sharon (Allan) Hallenbeck of Laguna Hills, CA, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his father, William E. Ziegler and mother-in-law Gayle Skip Erdmann of Lompoc, CA.
Visitation for Robert W. Ziegler will be on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 4:00-7:00PM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, and again on Friday, July 6, 2007 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Robert W. Ziegler will be held on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. A Memorial has been established.
