Roger Wetzel

Roger Lloyd Wetzel, age 83, of 504 Russell Dr. Ripon, passed away Tuesday December 5, 2006 at his home.

Roger was born April 18, 1923 in Ripon, the son of Frank and Grace (Fietz) Wetzel. He attended Ripon and Berlin schools. Roger served in WWII in the Army. On March 13, 1943 he married Ruth Hill, they shared 63 years together. Roger was a farmer and worked for Bryden Plumbing and Heating. He was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church of Ripon and Emanuel Lutheran Church of Brandon.

Roger is survived by his children; daughter, Bonnie (John) Schmidlkofer of Florida: Son, Richard “Dick” (Gail) Wetzel of Brandon; grandchildren, Kristina Smith of Florida, Sarah (Ken) Bultman of Berlin, Todd (Michelle) Wetzel of Waupun, and Eric (Danielle) Wetzel of Brandon; great-grandchildren, Fale Afoa, Bailey, Abigail and Chelsee Wetzel, Karsyn and Elizabeth Wetzel. One sister, Erma Busha of Ripon and brother-in-law, Harold Hill of Campbellsport . Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Glenn and his wife Ruth Wetzel, March 24, 2006.

Visitation for Roger Wetzel will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Memorial service for Roger Wetzel will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home with Reverend Rolf F. Amundsen officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery in the Village of Brandon. A memorial has been established.
