Roman R. Zwolski Jr., age 69, Ripon died Saturday, August 18, 2001, at Ripon Medical Center.
He was born April 3, 1932, in Ripon, a son to Kathryn (Wizner) and
Roman A. Zwolski Sr. He attended Ripon schools and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the SS Ranier. On June 29, 1957, he married Grace Shrock. They resided in Ripon most of their married life. Roman was employed at Speed Queen, Ripon, a Ripon police officer for 9 years, and as the Chief of Police in Randolph for 2 years. He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon, and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Grace (Shrock) Zwolski of Ripon; his children; Roman L. Zwolski Ill, Ripon, Laurine (Donald L.) Searl, Green Lake ,Yvonne (Milton) Gruszynske, Omro, and Christopher Zwolski, Ripon. He is also survived by a brother, Walter (Margaret) Zwolski, Ripon, a twin sister, Rosemary (Charles) Pommering, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21 from 4-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. all at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, Ripon
Mass of Christian Burial for Roman R. Zwolski Jr. will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2001 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Ripon, with the Father Robert A. Fictum officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Ripon. A memorial has been established.
