Ross G. Spiegler, 82, of the Town of Ripon, died of an unexpected heart attack on May 5, 1994, at Ripon Medical Center, Ripon.
He was born on February 15, 1912, in Pardeeville, the son of Gustave and Mary Spiegler. He was educated in Pardeeville. Ross served in the Army during World War II from 1941 until 1945. He has lived in the Ripon area since 1934. Ross worked for 32 years for the Wisconsin Power and Light Company, and was a member of the Wis. P&L Pioneer Club. He has been a self-employed electrician for the last 19 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43, past member of the Ripon Odd Fellows #144, member of Ripon/Green Lake Masonic Lodge F&AM #95, the Order of Eastern Star #151 Auxiliary, VFW Post #5278 and a member of AARP.
He is survived by one son, Ross M. (Diane) Spiegler of Green Lake and one daughter, Rosemary (Douglas) Van Buren of Madison, and their mother, Julia Spiegler of Ripon; a special friend and companion, Elizabeth Marquart of Ripon; two sons from a previous marriage, Gene Barden of Portage and Dean Walker of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Grace Walker of Pardeeville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gusty, two brothers and three sisters.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5 until 8 pm at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon. A Masonic Service will be held on Sunday at 7 pm, followed by a Legion Service at 8 pm. both at the funeral home.
Funeral Services for Ross Spiegler will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 9, 1994, at the Rosendale United Church of Christ where he was a member. The Reverend Wanda Veldman will officiate and interment will be in the Zoar Cemetery, Town of Rosendale. A Memorial has been established.
